Italy The Board has considered reports which give strong grounds for believing that: a. there are illegalo Lodges operating under the Grand Orient of Italy; b. the Grand Orient of Italy has active links with the Grand Orient of France. Later news may prove or disprove this belief but the Board recommends that the United Grand Lodge of England should in the meantime distance itself the Grand Orient of Italy by suspending recognition. ....... UNITED GRAND LODGE OF ENGLAND - GRAND LODGE 8 September 1993 REPORT OF THE BOARD OF GENERAL PURPOSES ....... Grand Orient of Italy Recognition of the Grand Orient of Italy was withdrawn following more reports giving sufficient evidence of illegal Lodges, unregistered Brethren, links with unrecognised and irregular Grand Lodges, irregular practices and interference by other Masonic orders. .......   I FRATELLI AMERICANI INVECE LA PENSANO DIVERSAMENTE      MOTIVAZIONI PER LA CONFERMA DEL RICONOSCIMENTO DA PARTE DI TUTTE LE GRAN LOGGE AMERICANE Comunicazione, concernente il Grande Oriente d'Italia, pubblicata nella Relazione Annuale della Commissione di Informazione per i Riconoscimenti della Conferenza dei Grandi Maestri del Nord America, relativa alla riunione del 20-21 febbraio 1994. ITALIA "La Massoneria italiana nel corso degli anni è stata in agitazione. Questo ultimo anno è stato particolarmente turbolento con la costituzione di una nuova Gran Loggia, la Gran Loggia Regolare d'Italia. Questa Commissione durante tutto l'anno ha ricevuto e riesaminato numerose comunicazioni, scritte ed orali, sia dal Grande Oriente d'Italia che dalla Gran Loggia Regolare d'Italia. Nel giugno 1993 la Gran Loggia d'Inghilterra ha sospeso il riconoscimento del Grande Oriente d'Italia e nel settembre 1993 lo ha tolto. Nel dicembre 1993 la Gran Loggia d'Inghilterra ha concesso il riconoscimento alla Gran Loggia Regolare d'Italia. Anche se l'Inghilterra ha riconosciuto questa nuova Gran Loggia, questa Commissione non vede alcun motivo per revocare il riconoscimento al Grande Oriente d'Italia. Questa Commissione ha qualche preoccupazione che la concessione del riconoscimento alla Gran Loggia Regolare d'Italia possa essere stata un po' precipitosa. La Commissione è del parere che la Gran Loggia Regolare d'Italia non soddisfi, in questo momento, i requisiti di regolarità."
